About Us

Sundowner Cabin and Tourist Park was developed and is operated by Crown Island Developments.

Crown Island Developments was established in 2003 by Robert Gwynne and Stephen Edwards as a property development company specialising in the development of residential subdivisions and housing estates.

Crown Island Developments moved its operation full time to Whyalla in 2006 after completing a number of high profile projects in the area.

The Sundowner Cabin & Tourist Park was commenced in early 2008 and Stage 1 - 49 Cabins and  powered sites for Motorhomes and caravans was completed in August 2009.

Our Team

Robert Gwynne - Director
Based in Adelaide Robert has been primarily involved in the Hotel industry and has developed strong links in the South Australian business community, particularly through his commitment to the Adelaide Football Club and the Motor Racing Community.

Stephen Edwards - Director
For more than 20 years Stephen has been involved in property development in rural and regional South Australia. Now a full time working Director, based in Whyalla, he has established a long and lasing relationship with the local business community. Stephen is also co-owner of Mirambeena Motel in Whyalla.

Revel & Fiona Hyde - Managers
Revel and Fiona came to Whyalla to set up, open and manage the Sundowner Cabin and Tourist Park. They came from Victor Harbor where they worked with Robert and Stephen on several tourism ventures. They come with 25 years experience in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry and have worked on major events and other significant operations in both South Australia and Victoria, including the Adelaide Convention Centre and Adelaide Gand Prix.
